Week 7 Players of the Week
Offensive Player of the Week- Jack Kys London Beefeaters WR- 7 rec/ 114yards
Jack Kys was the star offensive player this week against the GTA Grizzlies. His ability to find open space and make something of it was clear to see this weekend. Averaging just over 16 yards a catch, Jack was the player to target when searching for a first down. Seven grabs was the most receptions for either team this week. He also had more receiving yards than all receivers combined from both teams.
Defensive Player of the Week- Waseem Ghozayel GTA Grizzlies 3 tackles/ 2 assisted tackles/ 2 ST tackles/ 1 QB sack/ 2 Blocked Punts/ 1 Fumble Recovery- 25 TOT Points
From defense to punt return, Ghozayel was a big part of the Grizzlies game plan. He helped his team pull off a tough victory in a 15-10 win over the Beefeaters this week. His two blocked punts gave GTA great field position and he was nearly impossible to stop on defense. Single tackles, assisted tackles, sacks, it didn’t matter, Ghozayel was always somewhere near the play! His impact was much needed to get London off the scoreboard in week 7.
Special Teams Player of the Week- Patrick Taccogna GTA Grizzlies P&K 7 punts/ 253 yards/ 3 kicks/ 166 yards/ 2 for 2 Extra Points
Taccogna is definitely a multi purpose special teams player for the Grizzlies this year. Taking both punting and kicking responsibilities is a crucial role in creating good field position for your defense, and potentially putting points on the board for your offense. He was well used this week as a kicker and a putter. On top of which, Patrick was able to convert on both converts to help clinch the win.
